Did you lose Lydia whilst doing a quest? Did she get stuck somewhere and couldn't get back to you? Or maybe she died by some tragic accident or you accidentally killed her yourself!
Well my friends you have come to the right place! I like you did lose Lydia and for the Life of me can't remember how. I am pretty sure she was dead as I searched for days to find her both in my House in Whiterun and at Dragonsreach. I also checked the Hall of the Dead (Catacombs) which is just down from Dragonsreach in Whiterun. I did not find her.
I did some searching on google and came up with some commands but none of them seemed to work! Until now, I have finally figured out how to bring her back!
Scenario 1:
She is simply lost and not dead:
Open the console and type the following:
a2c94.moveto player
Close the console and she should appear next to you. If she doesn't try the following commmands (warning: her inventory and armor will default to what she had at the start).
a2c94.disable
a2c94.enable
a2.c94.moveto player
If she still does not appear then she is definately dead, so now for scenario 2...
Scenario 2:
She died or you killed her yourself :(
Open the console and type: a2c94.resurrect
You should see a couple of lines of text, close the console and she should be standing next to you :)
This was the only command that worked for me and she appeared right next to me and I just asked her to follow me again and I finally had her back!!
If the resurrect command doesn't work for you try the disable and enable commands first.
These commands could also work for other followers just find out what the character id is. Lydia's character ID is a2c94
